Hi, I’m Brian Gilliland. We believe in working in a really personal way, so I guess the best way to start this off is with a personal statement.

I’ve been a fundraiser for 35 years. During that time I’ve worked on all sorts of projects. For example, I helped the Gurkha Welfare Trust build a highly profitable database of 80,000 active supporters from nothing. I led the first two phases of the transformation of Hull Minster, the city’s medieval spiritual hub, as we raised £3 million that transformed the space. Currently, I am working two different heritage Fund projects to transform churches and communities.
I love what I do, because of the impact it makes, and because of the people I get to work with. We have amazing clients at churches and charities. People who want to change their communities, do really important things for people in need. And they’re doing it.
However, it’s not just me that makes OneGilliland what it is. Behind me, I have a fantastic team of freelancers. Some are people who I’ve worked with for years, some are people with fresh ideas and new thinking.
We fundraise, and rather more. We help you plan strategically, to work out what your cause is really about, and how to get the best from your team. We help you to make an impact for good.
It has never been harder to fundraise than it is right now. Ask anybody, and if they’re honest, they’ll agree. That’s when it takes real determination, and a keen intellect.
Outside work, I’m dad to two teenage daughters, my wife is an NHS consultant. I’m into photography, classic cars, rugby, and writing. I’m a Director of a social enterprise that serves learning disabled people, and I sit on the local advisory board of a Pupil Referral Unit in Hull.
